After Effects Project

This was by far the hardest thing I have done in this class yet. After Effects contains many components that I used to make this video, such as key light, key frames, and null objects. It was hard to get the timing on the finger flick to match up with Jesse moving, but in the end, we got it just right!

Portfolio

In this project, I used indesign to create my student profile. It contains most of the projects I have created since freshman year. The cover took the longest to create, since I had to make it look simple but creative. One interesting thing I learned while using indesign is that you can create buttons to navigate between different pages.

Avatar

In this project, I created an avatar of myself in illustrator. I used the pen tool for every part of the face I created. Nothing really new was learned, but I did become more comfortable using and navigating illustrator by doing this project.

Photo Retouching

In this project, I used Photoshop to retouch and enhance our self-portrait. I used the spot-healing brush to remove any flaws on my skin, and the clone stamp to get rid of any fly-away hairs that were sticking out. A new thing that I learned was that if I invert the the photo, add a high pass and Gaussian blur filter, and then add a layer mask filled with black, it will reverse the effect of the Gaussian blur. I also learned that you can use the dodge and blur tools to emphasize certain highlights and shadows on my face. I used selective color to brighten my irises, teeth, and the whites of my eyes.

Internet Troll

For this project, we worked in illustrator. I used the pen too to make the outlines of the troll, and then adjusted the width of the stroke to emphasize certain parts of his body. I used the live pain tool, which I have never used before, to fill in the color and gradients.

Portfolio Cover

So far, this is what I have as the cover for my portfolio. I'm not sure if I completely like it, but it's a start! I might make it more simplistic and play with the color scheme when I have the chance. I addition, I could experiment on whether to include jpegs or not.

Vero Eco Water Logo

In this project, we were instructed to create a logo for a certain business. My choice was to create one for Vero Eco Water! I used illustrator throughout the entire project and created two possible logos that could be used. I used the pen tool to create the "V" and then typed the rest to finish off the logo.
